The TomTom trade fair stand at the IAA 2017

Next. Level. Navigation.

How do you win over a very discerning audience, as in the international trade press? The short answer: through excellence. The more detailed version: with innovative technologies, ingenious products and a portfolio presentation that ticks all the boxes. That’s what happened at the IAA 2017, where TomTom Automotive once again positioned itself as a navigation expert and a pioneer of autonomous driving.

The stand design, developed in collaboration with the architecture firm Benz & Ziegler, featured an aerodynamic look and feel. People were wowed by the presentation concept, which created a striking contrast between chaos and complexity on the one hand and purity and simplicity on the other.

The press conference dealt specifically with the real-time analysis of movement data from TomTom navigation devices – something that can revolutionise live traffic updates – and mobile mapping, which involves recording hundreds of thousands of kilometres of road as the basis for the autonomous driving services of the future.

A further highlight for the stand’s visitors was the opportunity to experience a drive along Europe’s most picturesque routes via a VR headset – complete with steering manoeuvres. And, of course, the stand was extraordinarily well received, with one customer saying it had ‘raised TomTom Automotive to a new level’.
