Gala event for the 2017 Innovation Award, Vodafone

Innovation. Laudation. Vodafone.

Many companies are committed to innovation. But few companies champion it quite as systematically as Vodafone. Or, to be more precise, Vodafone-Stiftung für Forschung (Vodafone research foundation), which has been promoting innovative research in the field of communication technology since 1996.

Two generous awards were established to this end: the innovation award for outstanding scientists and a second award to promote up-and-coming scientists. These are a great honour for all the nominees – and for Service Factory, which was commissioned with organising the gala event that framed the award ceremony.

The result was an evening packed with highlights in the sky lounge on the 18th floor of the Vodafone headquarters. It featured everything from a red-carpet reception and showcase stagings to a gala dinner enjoyed high above the roofs of Düsseldorf. The evening culminated in the presentation of the two awards to Professor Klaus-Robert Müller and Dr Gholamreza Alirezaei.

The ceremony was witnessed by a top-calibre audience comprising well-known representatives from the fields of science, politics and business, and there were smiles all round as the city lights twinkled below.

“Organising such a big gala event with so many big names from the worlds of business, politics and science is quite a challenge. Indeed, doing so while the Innovation Days were going on and also on the 18th floor is something of a logistical feat. As the hosts of the Innovation Award, we were able to fully rely on Service Factory’s Events team.”
