TomTom trade fair stand, IFA 2017

Pioneer. Guide. Companion.

The four words that best describe TomTom are dynamic, sporty, young and innovative. And that’s exactly how the company came across at the IFA 2017 – with a perfectly designed stand that got people talking and also drew a clear line between the areas of ‘Sport’ and ‘Drive’. Why was this necessary? To create enough space to showcase each area’s highlights, which turned out to be a hit with visitors – and deservedly so.

How did ‘Sport’ pull in the crowds? With a special kind of age test: visitors had the opportunity to find out whether their ‘fitness age’ was the same as their actual age. For those who found they needed a little help, it was available in the form of TomTom sports watches and the brand-new TomTom sports app – the perfect training partners for improving personal performance.

In the ‘Drive’ area, meanwhile, high tech met vintage. Visitors to the stand enjoyed the TomTom Road Trips service combined with the unique atmosphere of a cult VW T2 camper van, experiencing the world’s most spectacular, idyllic and adventurous roads – in short, the most legendary routes on the planet – via a VR headset.

Whether you’re cruising along Route 66 or the Amalfi Coast, TomTom Road Trips, pre-installed on your satnav or used as an app, is the ideal travelling companion, providing comprehensive information about sightseeing, accommodation and petrol stations. Let’s go!

As different as the two parts of the stand were, they both made one thing clear: if anyone knows the way, TomTom does. No wonder everyone wanted to come along for the ride.
