Vodafone 360° Brand Experience

Fast-paced. Spectacular. Breathtaking. This was the perfect event for those who love action and adventure. As a technology partner for the Red Bull Crashed Ice Race 2016, Vodafone helped put on a thrilling event for 2,000 spectators, who were swept away by the high speeds and sheer determination of a group of daring ice cross downhill racers. A 360° helmet camera provided amazing real-time footage.

For those who couldn’t be there in person, the competition was streamed live online on the Vodafone blog. There were several different cameras showing the track itself and the competitors’ camp.

Spectators had the opportunity to experience up-close what this kind of race is like for the athletes: a stress-level monitoring system showed exactly where on the ice track the competitors’ pulses soared – as the same thing happened among the audience! It was made all the more exciting by a 360° video directly from the ice track, broadcast to virtual reality glasses.”
